Task Management

Task management that records what you did

Most task managers show you what's left to do. Loginboard also records what you actually completed — with timestamps, subtasks, and a permanent log you can search and export. Your to-do list and work history in one place.

How task management works in Loginboard

Tasks are log entries — not a separate board. When you complete a task, the record is written automatically. Nothing falls through the gap between your to-do list and your work history.

Task log entries

Create a log entry of type "Task" with a title, note body, and priority. It appears in the feed alongside your other log entries. No separate list to switch to — tasks and work updates share one feed.

Subtask checklists

Add multiple subtasks to any task entry. Toggle each one done or undone independently. The parent task tracks how many remain, giving you real granularity without creating separate child tickets.

Priority labeling

Mark any task high, medium, or low priority. Priority labels appear inline in the log feed so you can see at a glance which items matter most without sorting through a separate priority queue.

Completion timestamps

When you toggle a task done, the exact time is recorded. Completion is reversible if you mark something done by mistake. You always have an accurate record of when each task was finished.

Links attached to tasks

Attach a URL — a Jira ticket, GitHub issue, Figma design, or any external reference — directly to the task entry. The link travels with the task so nothing gets lost between tools.

Tasks in EOD reports

Completed tasks appear in your automated End-of-Day summary. Incomplete tasks appear separately so anyone reviewing your report sees what's still in progress — no manual update writing required.

Searchable task history

All completed tasks stay in the log and are searchable by keyword, date, and workspace. You have a permanent record of everything finished — searchable months later for audits or performance reviews.

Tasks separated by workspace

Organize tasks by project or client using workspaces. Each workspace has its own log feed, so tasks for one client don't mix with tasks for another. Switch workspace and the task list changes instantly.

Export task records

Export your task log as CSV or PDF for billing, client reporting, or auditing. Pro plan exports are unlimited. Free plan includes five exports per month — enough for monthly reviews.

How task management works day to day

Step 1

Create a task log entry

Select "Task" as the log entry type. Write a title, set a priority, and optionally add subtasks and a note body with context. Attach any relevant ticket or document URL. The entry is saved to the active workspace immediately.

Step 2

Work through it and mark done

Check off subtasks as you finish them. When the whole task is complete, click the completion toggle. The timestamp is recorded. If you're blocked, switch the type to blocker so it surfaces in your EOD report.

Step 3

Review, report, and search

Your completed tasks appear automatically in the EOD summary. Search past tasks by keyword to find anything from prior weeks. Export the log at any time for billing or audit use.

Who uses Loginboard for task management

Developers

Log each ticket as a task, attach the issue URL, check off sub-steps. When the PR merges, toggle it done. Your work log reflects your commit history without a second tool.

Project managers

Track deliverables as tasks with subtask checklists for each component. The EOD report shows progress without separate status calls or manual updates.

Freelancers

Log client tasks per workspace. Mark each complete with a timestamp. Export the log at billing time — you have an itemized record of what was done and when, per client.

Operations staff

Log recurring operational tasks — backups, reviews, reports. The completion history proves reliability and makes handoffs straightforward when someone else needs to take over.

Anyone building a performance record

At review time, export the task log for the period. You have timestamped evidence of what was completed and when — not a reconstructed list written from memory the night before.

Teams that need blockers visible

When a task is blocked, switch its type to Blocker. It stays in the feed with a distinct label and appears in the EOD report so it can't be missed during review.
