Daily Work Log

The work record that writes itself

Loginboard is daily work log software. Add entries throughout the day — tasks completed, progress made, blockers hit, notes written. By end of day, you have a timestamped record of everything you did, an automated summary report, and a searchable history going back months.

What a daily work log does in Loginboard

The log is the center of Loginboard. Everything else — tasks, time tracking, reports — connects to it. Here's what the log itself does.

Two log entry types

Every entry is either an Activity or a Task. Activities capture things you did — meetings attended, code reviewed, emails sent. Tasks are actionable items with a completion toggle. Both types go into the same feed.

Task completion tracked in the log

Task entries have a done/undone toggle. When you complete a task, it's marked done with a timestamp. Subtasks can be checked off individually. The log entry remains in the feed as a permanent record of what was done.

Blockers surfaced in the feed

Mark any entry as blocked. Blockers appear with a distinct label in the log feed and show up separately in the EOD report. Blocked items can't be forgotten or buried — they stay visible until resolved.

Timestamped entries

Every log entry is stamped with the exact time it was created. The feed is organized by day. You always know not just what was done, but when during the day it was recorded.

Automated EOD report

Your End-of-Day report is built from the day's log entries. Completed tasks, activities in progress, and blockers are grouped separately. Share it by email or link, or keep it as your own daily record.

Searchable log history

Search the entire log by keyword across all workspaces and dates. Free plan stores 90 days of history. Pro plan keeps the full log forever. Find anything you logged, months later, in seconds.

Tags and pinned entries

Add tags to any log entry for later filtering — a client name, a project code, a category. Pin important entries so they stay at the top of the feed regardless of when they were logged.

Reference links on entries

Attach URLs to any log entry. Links auto-fetch the page title. Up to 10 links per entry on Free, unlimited on Pro. The reference travels with the entry so context is never lost.

Export the full log

Export your work log to CSV or PDF — the full entry history, with timestamps, types, tags, and notes. Useful for client reporting, performance reviews, or compliance. Free: 5 exports/month. Pro: unlimited.

How the daily work log builds over time

Each day

Log entries as you work

Add a log entry for each meaningful piece of work — a task you started, progress you made, a meeting you attended, a blocker you hit. Entries take seconds to create. The log builds in the background as your day progresses.

End of day

Review the EOD report

The automated EOD report shows what was completed, what's in progress, and what was blocked. Review it, share it, or use it to prep for tomorrow's standup. Nothing needs to be manually written or organized.

Over weeks and months

Build a searchable work record

As the log grows, it becomes a detailed record of your work history. Search by keyword to find past decisions. View reports to see how your time is distributed. Export for billing or performance reviews.

What people log in Loginboard

Development work

Log each PR, ticket, code review, and deploy as a task or activity. Attach the issue link. Mark done when merged. The log reflects the actual development flow, not just what was in the sprint plan.

Client work and delivery

Log work per client workspace. When a project ends, export the full log — every deliverable, meeting, and revision — as a project record. Your client history is always documented.

Remote and async work

The EOD report replaces the end-of-day slack message you'd otherwise write manually. Log throughout the day and the report is ready automatically — no summary writing required.

Blocked work that needs visibility

When you're waiting on a dependency, log a blocked entry with context about what you need and who owns it. It surfaces in the EOD report so reviewers see it immediately — not days later.

Recurring operational tasks

Log daily or weekly responsibilities as they're completed. The history proves they were done consistently — useful for demonstrating reliability and for handing off to a replacement.

Performance review preparation

Months of daily logs produce a factual account of your contributions. At review time, search the log for high-impact work, export the record, and arrive with evidence instead of anecdotes.
