Task Manager

Tasks that live in your log

Most task managers and work logs are separate tools. In Loginboard, tasks are log entries. When you complete a task, the record is already written. Your to-do list and your work history stay in sync.

Task management built into the work log

No separate board, no syncing between tools. Tasks are entries in your log with a completion state, subtasks, and a note body — the same structure as every other log entry.

Done/undone toggle

Mark any task log entry complete with one click. It updates in the feed and in the EOD report immediately. Undo it if you mark it done by mistake. Completion is timestamped.

Subtask checklists

Break a task into subtasks, each with its own checkbox. Toggle subtasks done individually. The parent task tracks how many subtasks remain, giving you real completion granularity.

Priority labeling

Mark a task as high, medium, or low priority. Priority labels show in the log feed so you can see at a glance which items matter most — without sorting through a separate priority board.

Links and references on each task

Attach a URL — a ticket, pull request, design file, or document — directly to the task entry. The reference travels with the task so nothing gets lost between tools.

Tasks flow into EOD reports

Completed tasks appear in your automated End-of-Day summary. Incomplete tasks appear separately so managers see what's still in progress — automatically, without you writing a separate update.

Persistent completion history

Completed tasks stay in the log. They are searchable by date, keyword, and workspace. You have a permanent record of what was completed and when — useful for audits and performance reviews.

How task management works in Loginboard

Step 1

Log a task

Create a log entry of type "Task." Write the task title, set a priority if needed, and add subtasks or a note body with context. Attach a link if the task has a related ticket or document.

Step 2

Work and mark done

Check off subtasks as you complete them. When the task is finished, click the completion toggle. The entry updates in the feed and the timestamp is recorded. No separate update needed.

Step 3

Review and report

Completed tasks appear in your EOD summary. Search past tasks by keyword to find anything you worked on. Export the full log for billing or audit purposes.

What people track with Loginboard tasks

Development tasks

Log each ticket or PR as a task. Attach the issue URL directly. Mark subtasks done as you move through the checklist. When merged, toggle the task complete — your work log matches your commit history.

Project deliverables

Break a deliverable into a task log entry with subtasks for each component. The EOD report shows which components are done and which are still in progress without manual status writing.

Client requests and revisions

Log each client request as a separate task. Add the client's original message or a link to the thread as a note. Marking it complete creates a clear timestamp of when the request was addressed.

Recurring operational tasks

Log recurring responsibilities — weekly backups, monthly reports, regular reviews — as tasks. The history shows you completed them consistently, useful for demonstrating reliability.

Blocked work surfaced clearly

When a task is blocked, switch its type to Blocker. It stays in the feed with a distinct label. The blocker appears in the EOD report so it can't be overlooked during review.

Performance review evidence

At review time, export your task log for the period. You have a timestamped, searchable record of every task completed — actual evidence, not reconstructed recollections.
